Marine Radio Operator Permit (MP)

The Marine Radio Operator Permit (MROP) is essential for operating radiotelephone stations aboard specific vessels, including those over 300 gross tons and those carrying more than six passengers for hire. To obtain the MROP, you must pass Element 1.

General Radiotelephone Operator License (PG)

The General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) qualifies holders to operate and adjust basic equipment to Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) radio installations. To obtain the GROL, you must pass both Elements 1 and 3.

Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator's License (RG)

The Restricted GMDSS Radio Operator's License (RG) allows the holder to operate GMDSS radio installations within 20 nautical miles of shore and make basic equipment adjustments. To qualify, candidates must pass Elements 1 and 7R.

GMDSS Radio Operator's License (DO)

The GMDSS Radio Operator's License (DO) allows holders to operate and make basic adjustments to Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) radio installations. To qualify for the license, you need to pass Elements 1 and 7.

GMDSS Radio Maintainer's License (DM)

The GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer License (DM) qualifies personnel to perform at-sea repair and maintenance of GMDSS equipment. To earn this license, candidates must successfully pass Elements 1, 3, and 9 of the FCC examination.

GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer License (DB)

The GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer License (DB) grants operating authority for GMDSS radio installations, covering the rights associated with the GMDSS Radio Operator's License (DO) and Radio Maintainer's License (DM).

Ship Radar Endorsement

The FCC Ship Radar Endorsement enables licensed commercial radio operators to repair, maintain, or adjust ship radar equipment. To obtain the Ship Radar Endorsement, applicants must pass Element 8 of the FCC examination.
