Applying for Your FCC Commercial Radio Operator License: A Simple Process
How do I apply for my FCC commercial radio operator license?
Once you have successfully passed the required element exams for the FCC license you are pursuing, we will electronically file your license application with the FCC on your behalf.
Step 1: Email Your Documents
Send the following items to fcctesting@marinerslearningsystem.com:
Your MLS Certificate(s) of Completion for each required FCC Element
Important: Missing certificates will cause significant delays in processing your application.

- For item #9, if you don’t already have an FCC Registration Number (FRN), register for one here

Step 2: Complete the Forms (Only the Sections That Apply)
The FCC forms cover a wide range of license types, so not every field will apply to your situation.
Fill out all relevant sections to the best of your ability
If a question doesn’t apply or doesn’t make sense for your license type, you may leave it blank
We highlight the key items you do need to complete to keep the process simple
Step 3: We’ll Handle the Filing
Once we receive your complete packet:
We review your documents
If anything is missing or unclear, we will contact you promptly
When everything is in order, we submit your application directly to the FCC for processing
Upon approval, you will receive an email from the FCC with instructions on how to pay the issuance fee. These must be paid within 10 business days of application acceptance, or else your application will be dismissed. Read over this article to learn more.
