Important Updates for FCC Commercial Radio Operator Licenses During the Shutdown

The government shutdown has ended, and we are actively submitting our students' applications to the FCC for Commercial Radio Operator Licenses.
What You Need to Know:
✅ Applications Are Now Accepted: The FCC's electronic filing system is fully operational and accepting new applications.
⏳ Processing the Backlog: We are currently submitting two batches of applications:
Applications received during the shutdown (the backlog)
Newly submitted applications
➡️ Limited Daily Submissions: Please note that we are limited by the FCC on the total number of applications we can submit each day.
🙏 Thank You for Your Patience: Due to these submission limits, processing times may be extended. We appreciate your patience as we work through the queue as quickly as possible.

Due to a partial lapse in federal government funding, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has suspended most operations effective 12:00 a.m. EDT on October 1, 2025.
This impacts the processing of FCC Commercial Radio Operator Licenses as follows:
What You Need to Know
- FCC Services Paused: Many FCC systems are unavailable or experiencing delays. Transactions submitted during the shutdown may not be processed until appropriations are enacted.
- Website Information May Not Be Current: The FCC has noted that information on its website may not reflect real-time updates during the shutdown.
- Delayed Responses: The FCC may not be able to respond to inquiries, or response times may be significantly delayed until the government is fully funded.
Should I still send Mariners Learning System my application?
✅ Yes! We recommend that students continue to submit their application packets to us as soon as they are ready.
Once federal funding is restored and the FCC resumes operations, we will promptly submit your application on your behalf.
